i found it really great to make something as a class and to use the studio so we could use the new equipment. it was fun and stressful at the same time however i think we ended up with good footages.
hot 5 turned out well then guess this i personally think because it was more organised.
i think that it would of been better if we had concentrated on both the shows equally as we had more things done on HOT 5 than on guess this.

AN UPDATE ON WHAT'S HAPPENING INCLUDING - REHERSAL, FILMING,
(PREP) During the 3 weeks of college, the class and i have been practising and filming the 2 shows which are turning out rather well. for HOT 5, i had worked on music and sound effects such as an audience clapping alongside with rebecca who controled the volume and fades.
(FILM) we had filmed it during a whole thursday which was helpful to identify what is needed to be done such as camera angles and movement afer a practie.
the show turned out great and now we're practising and filming for, "Guess this", where i am a contestant alongside with rebecca.
(PREP) this week we have practised and that we would be filming the final recording next week thursday.

Top 5 Topic
to discuss:
·
The dress!
(Also known as the dress gate): The global fuss over the
black-and-blue or white-and-gold wedding dress has become a very “weird” and

·
New trend: Lip Plumper
Tool: A beauty product made from CandyLipz in which to promise young girls with
bigger and “plumper” lips. One unsatisfied Australian customer, Brittany
Forster, had hopes of retrieving a Kylie Jenner-style pout. However, after a
beginners-try and shock-of-her-life reaction after using the product she was
left embarrassed and bruised.
2 horrific minutes of watering eyes and
painful lips, she removed the application and was sadden with the results,
which had left her with a HUGE trout pout.

MY ROLE FOR HOT 5
for hot 5 i would be doing sound operating such as cuing music and adding applause. i had done this sort of job role before so i'm very confidant in doing the job along side with rebbeca who is in charge of volume
Task 1:Cast studies
Introduction: I will be covering 3 case studies regarding 3
different television studio shows and discussing the different aspects of a
television show filmed from a studio and the differences and similarities the
two shows have. I will be analysis: Take Me Out, Jeremy Kyle Show (studio) and
Live Football match (live).
Take me out: It is a UK studio based dating game show that appears
on ITV. The show consists of around twenty or thirty single women to be
impressed from one man till he chosen 1 women to date to Fernando’s. The women
each a button in which they can click if they aren't interested in the single
man. If all twenty or thirty lights are off then he leaves the show with no
date. It’s hosted by a male host mixing comedy to interest viewers and the live
audience.
It is when football teams from
around the world participate in a match. It’s held in stadiums due to space and
includes a field for them to play in. Depending on how the stadium, it is
roughly over 2,000 people come to watch the match. The stadium consists of over
25 cameras of the game, player and audience so the vision mixer can change to
different shots in which may interest and engage the viewers.
1)
Coverage
Take me out: The studio is rather large enabling to gather a large
audience who react and sometimes talk with the host. By doing this it helps
make the viewers and audience feel involved and relaxed. I think, roughly,
there were about 7 cameras, each takes different shots and from different angles
when told from the producers or director. Most camera shots are of a medium
close up of the contestants, the male contestant and the host to show their
facial expressions and also wide to show the whole stage involving a couple of
shots of the audience when they’re talking.
The cameras are more likely to
either to be on a Crain for long shots and angle enabling to see the audience
and stage, a track between the audience and the stage making it easy to pan
from the people on stage and record the expressions of the audiences faces whilst
some are hand held and just next to the stage or on it to take a shot of both
the host and contestant talking and observing the body language and facial expressions.
It is then sequenced from the editing studio where the producer and director
direct the mixer to change what appears on screen.
Jeremy Kyle Show: The studio isn’t as big as the Take Me Out studio.
It has a smaller audience and smaller stage as it is trying to make the show
appear serious due to the fact that they are talking about real events with
people. The stage had roughly 2 sofa or more, depending on the amount of people
who are involved with the current talk. The cameras don’t do a lot of panning
or tilting and are most of close ups of the host, guest and the audience to
show their facial expressions and emotions wide shot in which it presents the
stage, Jeremy Kyle and the guest and the host and/or the audience behind the
host. Though, mostly the cameras are steady and some on tripods whilst at least
3 cameras are hand held due to the fact that the guest might walk away from the
stage and Jeremy tells them to follow him.
(LIVE) Sports Football:
Since the stadium is big and
things are happening, there is enough space for many cameras to move around and
capture the action on the pitch to create a lively atmosphere.
I had researched that an
average live football tournament, directors and producers operate with 24
different cameras that are shooting the live show in different angles. Camera
angle such as long shot of the audience or the whole stadium, bird’s eye view
to view the players playing and see what’s happening, close up of the
footballer’s, audience’s and manager’s expressions, medium long shot as player
kick the ball and such etc. By doing this, it’ll appear more interesting and
since everything is fast pace it creates an adrenaline and excitement.
2)
Communicating:
Take me out: The host tends to make jokes and eye contacts with the
audience and the contestants in order to make them feel comfortable and
involved more with the show. The host says common catchphrases in which the
audience then response to. For example, the host says, “No likey…” then the
audience says, “no lighty” which adds in the fun atmosphere. Sometimes the host
would walk towards someone in the audience which makes the show appear more
friendly and fun. Though the host doesn’t talk to all the contestants on stage,
he tries taking to different contestants to listen to their view and opinion.
During this the camera work is
being cut to different angles and different shots of the host, the contestants and
audience to show their reactions and understand what’s happening.
Jeremy Kyle Show: Before having a guest appear on stage Jeremy give
the viewers and the audience a small summary of the current talk to let them
understand the matter with the guest. He talks more to the guest than the audience
but he does make eye contact with them to make them feel reinsured and
involved. Though it is of a serious atmosphere, the host tries to keep the viewer’s
aware of what is happening even when a guest walk off stage by ordering a
camera crew to follow him.
At the start of the show it
starts slow due to the fact it’s introducing the show and had invited a guest
on to the stage. Then it begins to fasten when an argument starts. It cuts to
close ups to guests and Jeremy showing their facial expression through the
argument.
(LIVE) Sports Football:
There are spokesmen who talks
through the whole live game which seems as if they’re talking to you in order
to draw in your attention and inform you with what is happening. Sometimes to
talk about their own views in which may or may not interest the viewer’s
however, they’re trying to entertain and inform the viewers on their personal
opinion. Since everything is fast pace and the spokesmen tone of voice changes
such as when a player scores a goal they’re tone of voice begins to rise in
which makes it appear very exciting and engages the audience to watch.
The camera cuts to different
angles and shots of the match, players and the audience to create an atmosphere
such as cutting to the crowd to see the reactions of the goals and misses. This
helps make the show appear lively and exciting in which draws the viewers’
attention.
They do interviews and talk
from a presenter with footballers, managers and sport celebrities to hear
they’re opinion. They talk in a way that it feels as if they’re hanging out and
it makes the audience relax and involved as sometimes the presenter tends to
look at the camera so it appears as if the audience is involve.
3)
Visual Style
Take me out: The studio appear rather dim with dark some dark
colours such as dark purple, dark red and black and half the time is bright
with colours such as white pink, lilac and purple. This gives a maturity and
flirtatious vibe which links with the genre of the show – dating game show.
The title text is bold, big
and white which stands out from the girly heart shapes and background colours.
Also the silhouette figures (graphics) of a man and some women which help
identify the aim of the game as the black silhouette of the man is trying to
impress the white silhouetted women who break into fluttering hearts when
rejecting him.
The contestants and the host
are dressed smartly in order to impress both the audience and the male guests
who would be appearing on the show. This helps makes the show appear as
glamorise and mature as the contestants, the host, the guests and the audience
are of a mature age. However, is not too explicit and is reasonable for those
who are young adults.
Jeremy Kyle Show: The stage
is lit as well as the audience so it appears like a living room due to the fact
that there are sofas on stage to make the guest feel combatable to talk. The
main colour of the show is white and light blue which might represent calm and
sophisticated.
Jeremy Kyle is wearing a dark
suit making him appear rather mature, serious and sophisticated. His form of
speech is rather formal which helps make the show appear organized and serious.
(LIVE) Sports Football:
Sometimes after a time out
they show past videos of famous footballers such as Batistuta and some present
history of likable footballer such as Messi and Renaldo as they are known for
they football performance. Most of these videos are of favourite footballer in
which can draw in viewers who like those celebrities because their fan base is so
big; it can draw in more viewers into watching the actual match after.
By the pitch they have some
advertisement displayed on banners and even on what the footballers are wearing
to show their sponsorship with these companies.
4)
Maintaining Viewer interaction
Take me out: The show has footages of how the contestants who won a
ticket doing in Fernando’s and also an 2 introduction footages of the male
guest in which helps the contestants decide whether to keep their lights on.
With this it helps the viewers and audience understand more of what the show
does for constants who gets involved with the show. This might encourage
viewers and the audience to try and get involved with the show.
The cameras take some shots of
the audience’s reactions but rarely and so listen in on what the host and the
contestants say.
Jeremy Kyle show: The host looks at both the camera and the
audience to make it feel as if he is talking to us and not just ignoring. He
tries to involve the audience to keep their attention such as saying, “give a
round of applause” which most studio shows tend to do in order to know the
audience is still engaged.
(LIVE) Sports Football:
?
5)
Constraints of studio or location
environment
Take me out and Jeremy Kyle: cameras are placed in different places
in order to receive different shots and angle of the audience, the stage and
those on stage. This is a way to make the show appear interesting. Depending on
the studio size, there are more or less people within the audience to space,
health and safety for both the cameramen, audience and crew. Also the fact that
it is quite small in some ways that might need to be considered when placing in
cameras.
(LIVE) Sports Football:
Due to the fact that it’s a
live match in a field that is within a stadium - it’s common for it to be huge
due to the fact of the amount of people who comes to watch the match, the size
of the field in order for the players to be able to play amongst a wide space
and a huge space for camera’s to move around and include a lot of camera to
shoot a range of shots and angles. What is considered is where the cameras are
placed so they’re not in the way of the game.
There is not one particular
colour theme beside the colours of the player shirts and the colour of the
advertisements that are seen. It’s mostly green due to the field being so big.
Though the studio where they interview is bright, white, hints of blues
and colours of the country’s flag they
are in are shown for example if the football match was held in brazil the
studio could have colours such as green and yellow to represent the country
they are in.

Task 2: Ideas for a Studio Show
Programme
format (e.g. studio production) and initial production scenario (e.g. game
show)
Studio based production: Celeb Chat quiz show
Development
of programme ideas: Content idea, visual style, presenter style
4 “celebrities” would each be asked questions and to perform in all 8
different categories: guess the celebrity, guess the song, guess the movie
poster, who directed it, who acted in it, gossip knowledge, act it out and sing
it etc. if the one who pressed the buzzer first doesn't give the correct answer
then it moves on to the other celebrities.
Each question consists of a star prize where the one who answered the
question first and right would have another question to answer that is
irrelevant to entertainment genre e.g. maths. If they get it right but have not
won the game their prize would be given to the one who wins the game.
Each question is worth 50 points (£50). Whoever wins the game would have
their points added with the other contestants points for example if 3 of the
celebrities have £100 (£300) and the winner only won £50 the winner will end up
with £350 and their prizes.
The winner will then choose whether they want to do the ultimate question
in which they can double their cash and a grand prize by answering all 3
question right. If you lose everything.
List of
equipment needs
6 cameras: 1 long shot of the contestants, 1 long shot on the host, 3
cameras doing close up shots on each celebrity, one camera on the “board” where
it presents the prize and images, sound track etc. lastly a 2 cameras on the
audience on both sides.
There would be buzzers and lights to indicate who pressed the button
first. Also a number chart to see how many points each celebrity has.
5 mics: 4 for celebrities and 1 on the host.
